I think it will help to prevent further degenerative change after injury. doesn't matter with diet or injection form. remember traumatic injury can leads to DJD. If it was my doggie, i will still give glucosamine a go. I didn't mean a long term dietary change, but during the recovery periods.
ps, which uni did u went to? is that usyd or others?
